Tara Watterson - Mortgage Broker

Tara’s journey into mortgage broking started long before it became her career.

Before entering the finance industry, Tara worked in childcare and ran a home daycare while raising her two children as a single mum. When the time came to build her first home, she was introduced to Marianne from 360 Mortgage Solutions — an experience that would change the direction of her life.

At the time, the idea of building a home felt overwhelming. Like many people, Tara wasn’t sure what was possible, what she could afford, or how the process actually worked. With the right guidance and support, she learned that home ownership was achievable — and step by step, she went on to build her own home.

That experience sparked something bigger.

From client to mortgage broker

Going through the building process firsthand showed Tara just how powerful the right support can be. Having someone explain things clearly, break the process down, and advocate for you makes all the difference — especially when you’re navigating it on your own.

Tara was inspired by the impact that mortgage broking could have on someone’s life, and she knew she wanted to do the same for others.

She went on to complete her Diploma of Mortgage Broking and formally entered the industry, bringing with her lived experience, empathy, and a genuine understanding of what clients go through when buying or building a home.

Building a home — and a future

Tara’s own home build is a big part of her story.

From slab stage, to framing, to watching the house take shape piece by piece, Tara understands the emotional and practical sides of building a home — because she’s lived it.

How Tara works with clients

Today, Tara brings that same calm, structured approach to every client she works with.

She takes the time to understand each person’s situation, explain options in plain language, and guide them through the lending process in a way that feels manageable and well supported. Whether someone is buying their first home, refinancing, building, or navigating a more complex situation, Tara’s focus is always on clarity and confidence.

Clients often come to Tara feeling unsure or overwhelmed — and leave feeling informed, supported, and clear about their next steps.

Local roots, Australia-wide support

Based in Flagstone, Tara is deeply connected to the local community and is actively involved in the Flagstone Community Association (FCA). Being part of the community matters to her — not just professionally, but personally.

Tara works from her home office in Flagstone and from the Shailer Park office, supporting clients across Logan and South East Queensland. She also works with clients Australia-wide, with customers located everywhere from Tasmania to Western Australia, and everywhere in between.

No matter where clients are located, Tara’s approach remains the same: clear communication, honest guidance, and consistent support throughout the process.
